Popcorn

Our Popcorn Fundraiser starts in August. This is our one and only fundraiser that we participate in.  A successful fundraiser helps us run a fun and complete program for our Scouts while keeping costs affordable.

Fundraising is not just about the money, it also teaches valuable skills to Scouts such us:

• Goal Setting Skills - When your Scout sets his or her own goal, they are more likely to achieve it. And even if they don’t achieve it, they will likely sell more if they are striving to reach a goal they set on their own.

• Persuasion Skills - Some people may think that Scout popcorn is a bit expensive, but we know, we aren’t selling popcorn, we are selling Scouting Adventures. This is a great chance for your Scout to share their Scouting story with people and ask them to help.

• Handling Rejection - Yup, your Scouts will be turned down sometimes. They will knock on doors and be told no, they will be ignored at a show and sell. They will get a lot of practice handling rejection gracefully, which is not a bad skill to learn young.

•  Perseverance Skills - Huge lesson in perseverance. If you don’t get a sale at this house, you go on to the next. If the person leaving the store doesn’t stop and buy, you just ask the next. Being tenacious is important – in school, work and life.

• Math Skills - Oh, my! There are so many ways to practice math with the Popcorn Sale. Add up order totals, make change, calculate how much more they need to sell to make goal.

Every Scout is required to fundraise or buyout, these are the options, you must complete 3 to fulfill the fundraising requirements:

• Show and Sell Shift (2 hours each)

• Sell $250 of Popcorn on your own (Wagon Sales, Online, etc) 

• Buyout at $100

You can mix/match! Here are some examples:

• 3 S&S = Complete

• Sell $750 of Popcorn on your own = Complete

• Buyout at $300 = Complete

• 1 S&S + $250 Sales on own + $100 Buyout = Complete

• 2 S&S + $250 Sales on own = Complete

• Etc

If you sold popcorn last year with us your account is still active. All sales are done through Trails End. Please login to your account at https://trails-end.com/ and signup for a shift by clicking on "Book a Shift" and then clicking on the event on the calendar.

Because we are a VIP pack, we have been allocated all great locations starting August 15th. You can book them on Trail's End today. Don't walk, run to your nearest mobile phone and open the Trails End app to sign up for shifts.

NEW this year! We can now create wagon sales shifts in the application! Sign up or let us know when you want to make a wagon sale, and we can create a shift for you so it's easy to coordinate and sign up.

Selling by yourself

You can sell popcorn right now using your scout's online page. This page is available from the Trails End application. You can also request Popcorn from the pack to do door to door wagon sales.
